VIMOVO Side Effects, Safety, and Risks

VIMOVO is an FDA-approved prescription combination medication that relieves chronic pain and inflammation due to OA/RA/AS and may help reduce the risk of stomach ulcers sometimes caused by NSAIDs. As with any prescription medication, it's important to talk to your doctor about the benefits and risks of treatment with VIMOVO.

Understanding the Risks of VIMOVO Treatment1

All prescription NSAIDs, including VIMOVO, may increase the chance of heart attack or stroke, which can lead to death. This chance increases

  • If you have heart disease
  • If you take NSAIDs for a long time

NSAID-containing medications, such as VIMOVO, should never be used before or after a type of heart surgery called coronary artery bypass graft (CABG).

Stomach and intestine problems and serious skin reactions can occur without warning. With any of these medications, people also taking aspirin and the elderly are at increased risk for stomach and intestinal bleeding and ulcers.

What to Discuss With Your Doctor Before Taking VIMOVO1
